About Troy

Troy Sawyer is a New Orleans trumpeter, composer, educator, and leader of Troy Sawyer & The Elementz. Rooted in the city's musical traditions, his sound draws on jazz, funk, soul, rock, and Latin influences. He performs on the B.A.C. Hollywood Model.

His B.A.C. Connection

Troy's connection to B.A.C. began through fellow New Orleans trumpeter James Andrews. After Troy's trumpets were stolen shortly before a Martin Luther King Jr. celebration, Andrews lent him a custom B.A.C. trumpet for the performance. That experience led Troy to purchase the Hollywood Model he continues to play professionally.

Girls Play Trumpets Too

Beyond the stage, Troy is the founder and Artistic Director of Girls Play Trumpets Too. Troy Sawyer is opening doors and providing opportunities in traditionally male-dominated spaces within the music industry for girls ages 8–19 through trumpet instruction, mentorship, and cultural exchange.
